3 Overrated Cities in the World

“The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before.” – Albert Einstein

A man in search of what will satisfy his eyes will never get tired of jet lags, traffics, wounds, pains, and broke wallets. It is in this search that every person has the right to different perspective and opinions. Looking and searching for what our eyes will please is the biggest problem any traveler would suffer with. Misleadings and misconceptions are what we sometimes get during our travel. What may appear good-looking for somebody’s eyes will not always be as good to another one’s eye.

“Nobody can discover the world for somebody else. Only when we discover it for our

selves does it become common ground and a common bond and we cease to be alone.” – Wendell Berry

Have you ever experience the feeling of being fooled around? Like when you search the place on the internet, it seems nice and pretty but right when you went there the place is totally the opposite one. AAH! I hate that feeling. So with that, here is the list of 3 overrated places in the world. Remember that this list is based on a research which people have expressed their own opinion to these places.

1.) New York City

3 Overrated Cities in the World-New York

New York might disappoint you for a long weekend, or even for a week’s holiday. The subway is filthy and dirty. It is way more industrial-looking and not what you have been dreaming about. Times Square is a nightmare, shops are shops, and you cannot change the impression that it is just basically an ordinary city in your country. New York City is way more expensive to stay at and with worse public transport would you still want to stay for a vacation there?

“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.” – Marie Curie

With those facts, bad or worse facts, there still something good about the city which you can enjoy about. During your stay in this city, instead of worrying about the look of their subway, it would be better if you will just observe the city during peak and buzzing hours. Instead of having a vacation only, try to do a work-cation instead.

2.) Paris, France

3 Overrated Cities in the World- Paris

Paris is the city of love. But have you ever heard the past news about Kim Kardashian being rubbed and handcuffed inside her own hotel room? A few tourists have already experienced that something in their luggage was missing. They have reported it but most items were not returned. Yes, it is true to fact that the scenic view of the city will lure the eyes of every tourist but would still want to visit a place where you can actually lose some of your items? No, right?

“Don’t let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity. It’s your place in the world; it’s your life. Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live.” – Mae C. Jemison

But Paris, France is not only about the robbery or snatched items, it is also about history and architecture. So to prevent your items to be lost then you better take an extra care in keeping them safe and sound. You and only you will be the one who will suffer the most in that case. It is also suggested that you keep your items with a monetary value in a much safe place or maybe bring only a few of them.

3.) Maldives

3 Overrated Cities in the World- Maldives

The sound of the sea breeze and the peacefulness of the place is what completes a vacation of a lifetime. But would it still count as one if you will only get what your country also offers? Like they are just literally the same. The only thing different is the name of the place and place itself.

“Begin doing what you want to do now. We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand and melting like a snowflake.” – Marie Beyon Ray

Instead of comparing Maldives to your nearest beach why not savor the moment and just have fun? Just bring out your camera and take a lot of scenic pictures for your social media account like Instagram or Facebook. You can also make good Snapchats there.
